Welcome!  You've stumbled upon #suicidephotography. The aim of this group is to gather people interested in self-portrait photography. It's all about shooting ourselves! With a camera, that is.  We accept both beginning photographers and professionals. It's all about the art!Joining Click the "Join Our Group" button at the top of our page. Join as a member, and you can submit as many photos as you'd like. We'll be automatically added to your watch list. What We Accept Self-portraits! The photos you submit must be taken by you and be of you. We accept devIDs, macros, and regular self-portraits. They don't necessarily have to be categorized as a self-portrait as long as you were both the photographer and the subject.  We only accept photography, so do not submit traditional artwork. What We DO NOT Accept  Artistic nude, because we say so. “Myspace shots”, random snapshots, and the like. Your photos must have an ARTISTIC quality to them. Photos of anyone but you, or photos of you taken by someone other than yourself. In other words, photography that is NOT a self-portrait. Low quality photos. This includes cell phone pictures, grainy pictures, over and under exposed pictures, poorly lit photos, anything that makes the quality of your photo look bad. Submission Limits The submission limit for all members is 5 per day. Please submit only your best work, and do not submit more than 2(ish) photos from the same set/shoot. The group gallery is not a place to advertise your whole gallery. ;D Push yourself to create many different self portraits! Suggesting Favorites The only favorites that will be accepted into the Featured folder will be self-portraits. NOTHING ELSE. If you're a member, please submit your work to the gallery, not the favorites folder. Chances are, you'll get more favorites submitting to the gallery anyway, as people see your work in their watch once it is accepted. Featured Folder This will be used for us to choose our favorite, most deserving photos to be showed off to the group! So if your photo is there, feel special.  Denied Submissions Reasons won't be given unless specifically asked for. The usual reason is just that it was a low quality photo. But please don't feel offended if your photo is declined! We love getting submissions. Keep sending some. But PLEASE do not resubmit a denied submission to the group. If it was rejected the first time, there was a reason. Submitting it again does not make that reason disappear, but instead annoys the admins. Another sad reason a great photo can be declined is if it says in the artist's comments (or we admins realize) that the person in the photo actually isn't you or it appears that someone else took the picture of you. If you don't know what self-portrait OFFICIALLY MEANS, look it up in a dictionary. Actually, here, I'll link you the definition according to Dictionary.com: [link] Read it and weep. One More Thing Please submit to the right folder. If your deviation is an ID, please put it in the Deviant IDs folder. We'll move it to the correct folder if you didn't submit to the correct one, but it would be easier for us if you just submit there in the first place. We really need some new contributors! Sometimes submissions take a few weeks to process, which would not be the case if we had more people voting things through and helping to break ties. ;D If interested, note the group or me personally!
We want to revive the group a bit! I feel as though not much is going on. I would like for this to be more of a community! Does anybody have any suggestions for us on how to better serve you guys? This is your group as much as it is the founders'.
